Klugro Wholesale Nursery was founded by the late Johan Kluge and Louise Kluge. What began as a simple passion for growing ferns soon flourished into a thriving family business. Over the years, our farm has expanded beyond tree ferns to include a wide variety of ferns, clivias, citrus trees, and macadamia trees—with macadamia farming being our latest addition.
Our Passion for Plants
At Klugro, we specialize in growing ferns from spore to full-grown plants, cultivating over 85 different fern varieties with care and expertise.
Sustainability at Our Core
- Every plant is nurtured right here on our farm by our dedicated growers.
- We are 100% off-grid, running entirely on solar energy.
- All excess water is carefully filtered before flowing back into the Crocodile River, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Ferns
Klugro offers a diverse selection of indigenous and exotic ferns, all propagated from spore and carefully nurtured on our farm. Each fern is homegrown under shade netting, ensuring they are garden-ready. We also cultivate a stunning range of indoor ferns, grown to perfection for your home or office.
Staghorn Ferns
One of our specialties, staghorn ferns are unique, epiphytic plants that bring a dramatic touch to any space. We have a beautiful collection available, including:

Tree Ferns
Our tree ferns are propagated from hand-selected, top-quality plants to ensure strength and longevity. We cultivate:

- Cyathea Cinnamonii
Clivias
Klugro is known for its dark orange Clivias with broad leaves, as well as the striking Clivia citrina, with its brilliant yellow blooms. Our collection also includes:
- Bronze Clivias
- Interspecific hybrids
- Clivia gardenii
- Clivia caulescens
- Clivia robusta
These specialty Clivias are available on request.
Euphorbia
Euphorbia plants provide year-round color with minimal effort. With a variety of vibrant hues and flower sizes, they are an excellent choice for any garden, blooming through all four seasons.
Macadamia Trees
Klugro has been growing macadamia trees for over 10 years, offering top-quality, fruit-bearing varieties. We can graft any variety to suit your needs, using only the best-performing trees from our award-winning orchards. Klugro is also a proud member of SAMAC (South African Macadamia Growers’ Association).
Citrus
Our citrus trees are grown for strong root development and excellent fruit production. Whether you’re looking for lemons, oranges, or naartjies, Klugro ensures top-tier trees that will thrive in your orchard or garden.
